Clowns Minister to Neighbor Church
On April 15th Messiah’s Clown Ministry Troupe presented "Cast Your
Burdens" at First Congregational Church in Cape Coral. The youth did a
superb job. We had a music malfunction and the clowns carried on their
presentation flawlessly. I believe the skit became more powerful
because it was silent as you had to focus more on the presentation.
For me clowning in pantomime is more meaning full and powerful. You see
the words with your eyes. In "Cast Your Burdens" you see the burdens
being placed on a wall in an effort to let it go. Yet we still carry
them around our necks. It's not until we place them on the cross of
Jesus that our burdens are truly gone. We can have true peace, joy,
faith, meekness and love. We can live the fruits of the spirit by
letting go and allowing Jesus to carry our burdens.
I
am very proud of Kayla Tennyson, Rachel Tennyson, Nate Rueb, Ariah Rueb,
Hannah Rueb, Brian Eastham and Audra Waddell. They were excellent as
representatives of Messiah Lutheran Church. They worked hard. They
rehearsed on Saturday and were at First Congregational by 8:00 A.M. on
Sunday morning. These dedicated young people are a shining example of
living and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
First Congregational Church has welcomed our ministry in the past. Yet
this time they were even more inviting and receptive to our whole
troupe. The message of "Cast Your Burdens" touched more than we can
truly say. The congregation loved it. The message was proclaimed in
silence. The Holy Spirit was there among us all. Praise God.
After the service we were invited to their church picnic. The food was
great and the fellowship was terrific. First Congregational church
donated $200.00 to our clown ministry. We all thank them very much for
their generosity and especially their hospitality.
I
personally wish to thank John Renfroe, Teresa Tennyson, Edward Tennyson,
and Duff Wilcox for their support and help with our ministry together.
It is a true ministry Messiah should be proud of. I know I am.
In God's Peace,
