Greetings on behalf of the people of Messiah Lutheran Church.

Those visiting this site will do this for a variety of reasons...you may be looking for a church to worship in while on vacation in the Fort Myers area or looking for a church to visit as a prospective member, or you might be a member looking for the latest midweek update or to check on news from the ELCA. For whatever reason, welcome to Messiah's internet ministry. Because the web is easy to surf for resources but not too personal, please feel free to follow up your visit here with a call or an email for more information. The staff at Messiah want to provide Christian hospitality and help in any way possible. Messiah is in a very fast growing area of North Fort Myers and we provide inspiring worship, conduct a highly respected and much sought after early learning program that includes the Florida certified voluntary pre-K program, and produce two highly popular "dioramas" during the year. The dioramas are drive through "theatre" where you view live scenes depicting the Nativity story (early December) and the Passion story (just prior to Holy Week). Leave your "virtual" visit behind and join us for worship and mission here at Messiah.

Please keep in prayer: Marilyn Ferrand (undergoing medical tests), Jennifer Furber (daughter of Carol & Bob Beck) who is about 5 months pregnant and recent tests show some concern about the baby's health...more testing will be done next week), and Cal Peterson (Cape Coral) recovering from surgery on Tuesday.

Letter from Bishop Hanson: This link will take you to an informative and inspiring letter from Bishop Mark Hanson, who tries to address the anxiety in some parts of the ELCA over the upcoming Churchwide Assembly and the resolutions having to do with sexuality/homosexuality in particular. Bp. Hanson does not promote an opinion...he just addresses the issue of anxiety.

Our own conversation: This Sunday, I will begin to address those issues as we continue our conversations about proposed actions to come before the assembly in August. Even if you haven't participated up to this point, I encourage you to come to the conversation THIS Sunday following the 9:30 service and the coffee hour (we'll begin about 11:00 am).

Passion Diorama DVD's: will be available for those who ordered them following worship on July 11 & 12. We do have some extras that will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
